Control over access to premises

The Broadway 3D device, wall-mounted or installed on the floor, can be used to secure access to premises such as workplace areas with heightened access control. Working with a limited database of registered persons, it provides auto-registration access to the work area of specialized departments only upon positive comparison of the person’s face with the registered 3D templates in the database.

Access to correctional facility areas

  • Creation of database of 3D faces of all criminals in correctional facilities.

High degree of accuracy compared to two-dimensional photographs. Biometric templates offer a very low error rate, and the possibility of automatic search of the entire database of faces. Repeat identification in case a person ends up in a correctional facility a second time, but under another name.

  • Possibility of creation of 3D photo of criminal and automatic search of the entire database of 3D faces.

Having a “black list” in the database of 3D faces of all criminals, people arrested, or those serving sentences, one can precisely and quickly identify a criminal. Traditional programs of this class consist of libraries of various facial elements, from which one must select various elements to compile a photo as close to the original as possible. The effectiveness of such systems is low, since good photo results require large libraries in which it is difficult to find appropriate drawings. Having a precise mathematical model of a person’s head, this process acquires modern possibilities of exact identification in large databases. For identification it is sufficient to have a verbal description of the criminal, and then the program can itself find an appropriate collection of items for the needed 3D template. The size of a precise mathematical model of a concrete person is extremely small – about 5 kb, which allows the storing of several thousand images on one computer.

Search for missing persons (children, the elderly, the handicapped) in 3D face database

Use of 3D models instead of “flat” 2D photographs significantly speeds up and eases the search for missing persons. In a search for missing children, the first few hours are especially important, and as each subsequent hour passes the chances of finding the child are less and less. Of course, in these circumstances it is important to have the most detailed information possible about the missing child, and most importantly, to identify him as quickly as possible. For this it is necessary to register a 3D image of citizens where they live, and if they go missing, to immediately inform the police of their disappearance. The possibility of disseminating to law enforcement offices, journalists and the like the most accurate and exhaustive information possible, including a 3D facial image, substantially increases the likelihood that a missing person will be found and returned safely.
